About Us
About Us (Serving Collectors & Artists Since 1988):
The Labyrinth is a family owned online shop dedicated to bringing you the best selection of art books, anime figures, and premium collectibles.
Our journey began in 1988 on the convention floor, catching the very first waves of English manga and classic comic culture. In the early 2000's, our regular presence at Sheridan College in Oakville inspired a pivot toward the animation community. This led to a decade of running The Animation Road Show directly at local schools and studios.
Co-founded by animator Dan Merisanu and his wife Jessica, our deep love for the industry drives everything we curate. Today, we have transitioned from our physical locations to a fully online/convention store, proudly shipping across Canada and constantly adding rare, high quality inventory for the fans who love it most.

Our downtown Toronto Location (pictured above) ran from 2006-2018
Following years of high demand from our convention community, we opened our first in person storefront in 2006 on Bloor Street West in Toronto’s historic Annex District. At the time, the area was a legendary hub for literature, surrounded by nearly 18 independent bookstores. We proudly served the Toronto community from that location for 12 fantastic years.
To better serve our deep roots within the animation community, we opened a second location directly across from Sheridan College in Oakville in 2013. We operated this location for 8 years, sharing countless memories with local students, artists, and collectors.
In 2021, following the immense challenges brought on by global pandemic restrictions, we made the pivotal decision to close our physical doors. This allowed us to channel 100% of our energy, inventory, and passion into expanding our online storefront and returning to our roots on the convention floor, ensuring we can continue to support Canadian collectors for decades to come.

Moving forward, The Labyrinth plans to continue showcasing our inventory at comic, anime, and video game conventions across Canada. If you see our booth, please stop by and say hello!
One of the unique things that sets us apart is that our roots are grounded in the creative industry. Being artists ourselves directly shapes the rare, curated selection of products we bring to the community. In fact, Dan never forgot a moment from his time at Sheridan College: during a break from a life-drawing class, the model looked at the room and said, "You animation students are weird!"
To Dan, that "weird" moniker became a badge of honor, no different than being called a proud nerd or a geek. We wear that badge proudly, and we hope that fellow fans and passionate collectors everywhere will always find themselves among friends at The Labyrinth.
Beyond the inventory, anyone who has ever visited us knows that we love to chat (not just about art and collectibles, but about life and learning). We can’t wait to meet you at the next show!

We can be reached by email at : info@thelabyrinthstore.com or give us a call during our phone hours at 416 900-5771
We currently are not set up to ship outside of Canada and the USA. We hope To add other countries in the near future. If you are in another country and need help, please e-mail us.
Thank you again!
